Art &  Australia's latest edition comes from the hand of one of Australia's most dynamic contemporary painters, Stephen Bush. Included in the recent Art & Australia publication Current: Contemporary Art from Australia and New Zealand, Bush paints a universe in riotous flux, as faceless figures float and fracture across time – perhaps a fitting notion for these book sleeves as they house none other than an anthology of eighty artists deemed to be 'of the moment'.

These ten hand-painted editions each consist of a double-sided unique artwork containing a volume of Current – a very special offering for our readers.

NELL/VANILA NETTO/ROMANCE WAS BORN
Father mother, 2011
Art & Australia commissioned Sydney fashion designers Anna Plunkett and Luke Sales (a.k.a. Romance Was Born) to collaborate with artists Vanila Netto and Nell to create this edition. Producing a rocking text-based art and fashion project out of dichotomies and diametric opposites, shot for Art & Australia's June 2011 issue pages, they have here channelled these frictions into the unlikely realm of nurture: both mother and father provide comfort but quietly prompt us to choose our place to rest.

JOHN BALDESSARI
Hand grasping a spider, 2010
The recipient of the Golden Lion for lifetime achievement at the 2009 Venice Biennale and the subject of a major retrospective at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art, Baldessari, chose to collaborate exclusively with Art & Australia on the eve of his January project for the 2011 Sydney Festival and Kaldor Public Art Projects, 'Your Name in Lights'.
For Art & Australia's Summer 2010 issue, Baldessari was given creative freedom to reinvent the magazine's traditional square format cover. In a playful response to the issue's theme of sculpture, the artist offers a photo collage of a hand grasping a spider. This cover commission and resulting print is the latest in an ongoing series of artist projects which have seen celebrated artists such as William Kentridge, Del Kathryn Barton and Louise Weaver use the magazine's cover as their canvas.

Own your part of the mystery that is Guido Valdez...
This commissioned edition complements a sculpture commission for Art & Australia's March 2007 issue cover, entitled Guido Valdez (Vendetta for love), 2006.
The concept for this edition was to create a 'fan bag' or 'show bag' for Guido Valdez. The edition consists of a screen-printed Belgian linen bag with cotton lining, containing various found and constructed elements, with slight variation. It contains 4 elements: a lithograph poster, a CD and a handmade zine.
Edition of 50, signed with a numbered certificate.
