Rex Butler

Rex Butler teaches in the School of English, Media Studies and Art History at the University of Queensland, Brisbane. He is currently writing a book on Colin McCahon with Laurence Simmons entitled Practical Religion: On the Afterlife of Colin McCahon.

Ann Stephen

Rachel Kent

Rachel Kent is Senior Curator at Sydney’s Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA). She has worked with leading Australian and international artists and was the curator of the MCA survey exhibition ‘Yinka Shonibare MBE’, which toured to New York and Washington D.C. in 2009-10. She writes extensively on contemporary practice and speaks at diverse public events.

Juliana Engberg

Juliana Engberg is Artistic Director of the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art, Melbourne. She was visual arts curator for the Melbourne International Arts Festival from 2000 to 2005, and more recently, senior curatorial adviser for the Australian presentations at the 2007 Venice Biennale.

Daniel Baumann

Daniel Baumann lives in Basel and is an art historian, freelance curator and writer for Pacemaker, Parabol, Parkett, and Spike Art Quarterly, among others. He is Director of the Adolf Wölfli-Foundation, Museum of Fine Arts in Bern, curator of Nordtangente-Kunsttangente, a project for art in public spaces in Basel, and the founder of an ongoing exhibition series in Tbilisi, Georgia

Anthony Gardner

Anthony Gardner is a writer, lecturer and editor based in London. Recent publications include essays in Third Text, Reading Room and the Australian and New Zealand Journal of Art. He is currently writing a book on installation art in Europe since the 1970s.

Judith Ryan

Judith Ryan is Senior Curator of Indigenous Art at the National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne. She has published extensively, including Mythscapes: Aboriginal Art of the Desert (1989), Images of Power: Aboriginal Art of the Kimberley (1993), Ginger Riley (1997) and Colour Power: Aboriginal Art Post 1984 (2004).

Barry Schwabsky

Barrry Schwabsky is an American art critic and poet living in London. His books include The Widening Circle: Consequences of Modernism in Contemporary Art (1997) and Vitamin P: New Perspectives in Painting (2002).
